Award - winning author Billy Bob Buttons

Award-winning and best selling author, Billy Bob Buttons, visited Edward Worlledge Primary school this week to talk to the children in upper school about creative writing ....... and how to get started with it! Having written thirteen children's novels including the Felicity Brady and the Wizard's Bookshop, the much loved The Gullfoss Legends, the hysterical Muffin Monster and the UK People's Book Prize winner, 'I Think I Murdered Miss' the children were enlightened and entertained with his books and his writing.

Stone Age Project

Edward Worlledge Primary school's Year 3 classes had the project gauntlet thrown down this week and were asked to recreate a Stone Age village in collaboration with their termly project.  The classes of Curiosity and Investigate have been studying the Stone Age period and how life was lived 3 million years ago.

Never a class to disappoint, Hazel and Scarlett from the year group have outshone the challenge and recreated a home fit for any caveman, or cave lady, to dwell in.  Well done girls - an outstanding effort as always!

Children in Need 2016

children in need 2016 3

Multi-coloured spots on shirts, trousers, faces, arms, legs and hands, along with wearing anything yellow, were the order of the day at Edward Worlledge Primary school on Friday for this year's Children in Need day.

Every child, from every year group made a sterling effort to dress up and donate £1.00 towards the annual day towards the worthy cause.  Well done to everyone (both children and their grown ups!) for making a super effort!

Whitwell Hall 2016

Flash floods, thunderbolts and lightening coupled with sunshine and short, sharp showers were extremely high on the weather forecast agenda for Edward Worlledge Primary's Year 5 annual trip to Whitwell Hall in Reepham this week.

Before having to evacuate the campsite due to the horrendous weather conditions, the children had enjoyed rifle shooting, pottery, t-shirt printing, boat building, campside food (served by Miss Goodwin and Miss Schindler, pictured), bat walks, scavenger hunts and nature trails.

A thoroughly enjoyable, yet exhausting trip, to Whitwell this year.  It just goes to show, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing and the Worlledgers certainly proved that they are a hardy bunch whatever the weather!

An overwhelming Thank You to the children for their bravery during Thursday nights storm and to Mr Snowden, Miss Freestone and Mrs Dickeson who helped with the rescue effort!
